Mobile Apps

Android security

We are updating the minimum supported Android operating system version our apps support to v9 (Android Pie, API 28) from version 6 (Android Marshmallow, API 23). This guarantees enhanced app security as we are taking advantage of Google’s new security features in newer Android operating systems.

Future releases of our apps will further optimize security by integrating even deeper with available security features.

iOS deprecation warning

We are deprecating the “Public User Registration” module along with the sign in with Google and Facebook functionality. This currently impacts zero customers. It will also improve app security and privacy.

Release Update Details

iOS

General:

• The copyright date in the About the App module now always displays the current year.

eGuide expiration:

• Expired eGuides now disappear off the app automatically.

Assessment:

• Users can now enter new data points in assessments (if configured): race, gender, height, weight, job title, salary range.

Multi-language:

• App users can now change the language of the App UI to Spanish or French.

User profile:

• The user profile page has been redesigned.

Module access codes:

• We completely redesigned the module access code experience. Users will now have a dedicated access code menu item where they can add and remove module access codes from their app, view access code descriptions, etc.
• Access codes now appear in a clearer way in the side menu with additional information such as the access level.

Reporting module:

• Admins can now export collected data.

Assessment:

• Admins can now configure an assessment to collect new data points: race, gender, height, weight, job title, salary range.
• The export of collected assessment data will include the new data points.

Side menu configuration:

• When an Admin is editing the side menu configuration, the page will lock to prevent others from editing it at the same time.

Modules & links configuration:

• When an Admin is editing the modules and links configuration, the page will lock to prevent others from editing it at the same time.

Reporting:

• Fixed an issue where a file that has been uploaded in a form would not be sent with the file extension.

Push notification:

• Fixed an issue where the latest push notification image would not always be displayed.

Checklist:

• The checklist description now uses a WYSIWYG editor.

Maps:

• Filters are now sorted alphabetically.

Assessment:

• Fixed an issue where phone number extensions were not sent when submitting an assessment or quiz.

Android

General:

• Updated the UI of success and failure popups.
• Updated the UI of kill switch message popups.

eGuide library:

• Fixed an issue where the update button would not be displayed when an eGuide update was available.

Push notification:

• Fixed an issue where the latest push notification image would not always be displayed.

Checklist:

• The checklist description now uses a WYSIWYG editor.

Maps:

• Filters are now sorted alphabetically.

Events:

• For events lasting over multiple days, we now display the start and end date and time in the details page.

Client Portal

General:

• Some tables now support pagination.

Bundle codes:

• An error message is now displayed when you try to publish a bundle code that does not contain any eGuides.

Checklist:

• The checklist description now uses a WYSIWYG editor.

Maps:

• Improved the performance of deleting map locations while in list view.
• Improved the performance of the maps module when toggling the “show/hide all items.”
• Refactored the entire GIS/KML/KMZ file import with ArcGIS’ native APIs allowing us to support more GIS formats.

Access code:

• Improved the validation of access at the API level. This adds an additional layer of security making sure the user truly has access to the access code before returning content.

Icon picker:

• Improved the design of the icon picker popup to take in consideration different size scroll bars (i.e.: Mac vs Windows).

Modules & links manager:

• Removed any phone number validation on phone number links in side menu items to allow international phone numbers to be entered.

iOS

Alerts:

• Fixed an issue where deleted alerts would not be removed from the list of alerts.

Settings:

• Fixed an issue where the version and build number of the app were no longer displayed in the app settings.

Assessments:

• Fixed an issue where duplicated assessments would display data from another assessment.

Maps:

• Fixed an issue where visiting the maps module for the first time would fail to load location items on the map.
• Fixed an issue where tapping on a location that is inside a zone would open the zone details page rather than the location.

User registration:

• Fixed an issue where the email validation would reject emails containing apostrophes.
• Fixed an issue where modifying one address field would modify another one in a user’s custom profile form.

Push notifications:

• Fixed an issue where notifications were not being received for modules that were unlocked using a module access code AND user registration.

Resources:

• Fixed an issue where the wrong map was displayed within linked resources.
• Fixed an issue where linked resources that were unlocked by a module access code would not be displayed immediately after consuming the access code.

Events:

• Fixed an issue where the list of tags would not wrap over multiple lines.

Reporting:

• Fixed an issue where a form would not update itself to the latest version after a user has submitted that form.

Android

General:

• Fixed an issue where returning to the app after tapping an external link (URL) would trigger an error message in the app.

Access code:

• Fixed an issue where an eGuide that was unlocked in a library that was itself unlocked with an access code would not get deleted from the device storage when deleting that access code.

Assessment:

• Fixed an issue where tips, hints, comments and warning labels would be displayed even when there were no values set for it.

User registration:

• Fixed an issue where the email validation would reject emails containing apostrophes.
• Fixed an issue where an error message would be displayed when saving the user profile form from the app settings.
• Fixed an issue where the profile form wasn’t updated when it was modified by an Admin.

eGuides:

• Fixed an issue where the user would end up on a blank page if they deleted an eGuide and clicked on the eGuide download success notification.
• Fixed an issue where an eGuide update would not be downloaded when requested.

Event:

• Fixed an issue where the content information section would not be displayed at all unless a value was entered in the “Name” field.
• Fixed an issue where event cover images were sometimes stretched.
• Fixed a UI issue when the favorite button was tapped.

Maps:

• Fixed an issue where the name of a route would not be displayed in the detours page.

Checklist:

• Fixed an issue where the form validation would display by default before interacting with the form.

• Fixed an issue where the data trends did not display the assessment choices correctly.
• Fixed an issue where the score breakdown section would prevent the user from saving an assessment.
• Fixed an issue where an assessment could not be saved if it contained a question with the type: “Rating.”
• Fixed an issue where exporting the responses of an assessment would fail.

Authoring tool:

• Fixed an issue where a link could not be configured in a glossary item.

• Fixed an issue where the severity icon would not be displayed in the alerts list when an alert was selected.

• Fixed an issue where access codes wouldn’t be updated when modules were removed from their app.

• Fixed an issue where the page would timeout when entering the wrong password at login.

• Fixed an issue where adding a location from the Google search would not save the phone number.
