Release Update Details

Client Apps – iOS and Android

Onboarding:

• When users launch their apps for the first time, they will be guided through the following screens which will prompt them to configure their apps:
  • Welcome
  • Login (if app has mobile user registration)
  • Push notification
  • Location permission
  • Location tracking
  • ZIP code(s)

Settings:

• New settings experience.
• The app version and build number has been moved to the “app info” setting option.
• Bundle codes have been updated in the App settings.
• New push notifications settings option:
  • Toggle push notifications on/off
  • Toggle geo-push notifications on/off
  • Manage ZIP code(s)

Push notifications:

• An entirely new push notifications engine.
• Improved security: app users will receive notifications only for the modules they have access to.
• Geo-push notifications: With the app user’s permission, latest location is shared so that only relevant notifications and alerts are received.
• A history of the app user’s location is NEVER saved. QuickSeries always overwrites a user’s previous location with the current one. That location is never shared with anyone, not even the app administrators/owners.
• Add ZIP code(s) to receive region-specific notifications and alerts. I.e.: School, cottage, work. This option can also be used by users who are uncomfortable continuously sharing their current location.

Client Portal

Push notifications:

• New push notification experience for News and Alerts modules.
• Push options:
  • Send to all
  • ZIP code(s) and geo location
    • Draw or import polygons
    • Select ZIP code regions
  • View an estimated number of users who will receive an alert based on the selected region and the user’s push notification configuration and location in real time.

FEMA & NWS:

• Will now send alerts based on the user’s push notification settings.

Improvements – iOS

Forms:

• Forms used when logging in, the forms and reporting module and the additional info section of the assessment module have been updated with SwiftUI making them more accessible to people with vision impairments.

iOS apps

Alerts:

• Fixed an issue where an empty field would be displayed when hitting the back button from an alert details page.

General:

• Fixed an issue where hitting space on the keyboard would not always add a space to form inputs.

Login:

• Fixed an issue where an optional login would display as a mandatory login

PDF Library:

• Fixed an issue where the send button would be hidden when sharing a PDF via email on an iPhone 12 device.

Forms & reporting:

• Fixed an issue where it would not be possible to get to the special characters keyboard in long text fields.
• Fixed an issue where data validation would not be displayed for time range selectors.
• Fixed an issue where data validation would not be displayed for file upload fields.

Side menu:

• Fixed an issue where modules locked by Access Code would continue to be displayed in the side menu.

Bundle code:

• Fixed an issue where tapping the ‘add’ button would crash a device running iOS 13.

News & RSS:

• Fixed a crash when navigating between large RSS feed categories.

Android Apps

General:

• Fixed an issue where the ‘no internet access’ popup would be displayed falsely.

Alerts:

• Fixed an issue where a map would be empty for an alert with a defined affected area.
• Fixed an issue where the wrong ‘response’ condition would be displayed in the alert details page.

eGuide library:

• Fixed an issue when sorting a list of eGuides.

Client portals

KNOWN ISSUE:

Many apps using the FEMA & NWS WEA API are no longer generating alerts with polygon data for the affected regions, instead using official FIPS codes representing regions.

Our implementation currently does not support FIPS codes but will continue to process and generate alerts for those created with polygon data.

We are currently working hard to release a new version of our FEMA & NWS feature that will support FIPS codes.

Alerts

• Fixed an issue where expired or ended alerts would continue to be displayed as active.

Access codes:

• Fixed an error when trying to remove a module from an existing access code.

Side menu:

• Fixed a potential API error when updating the side menu configuration.

Maps:

• Fixed an issue where clicking the publish button with an empty region (when creating a polygon) would create a new instance of the previously created region.
